Head of Brand Narrative & Keynote

Leads Ashby’s company and brand narrative, translating customer, market, product, and company insights into messaging across segments and channels. The role owns the annual keynote, partners closely with the CEO and sales leadership, and initially operates as a senior individual contributor before building a team.

Responsibilities

  • Own Ashby’s overarching company and brand narrative and differentiation story across all segments and audiences.
  • Maintain a scalable messaging framework that informs campaigns, sales materials, enablement, and other teams’ work.
  • Conduct customer interviews, surveys, market research, customer-call reviews, and qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform messaging.
  • Use AI tools to synthesize insights across larger data sets.
  • Own the narrative arc, planning, speaker management, and execution details for Ashby’s annual One Keynote, partnering directly with the CEO and coordinating Product, Engineering, and Product Marketing contributors.
  • Develop startup and lower mid-market messaging, sales decks, and enablement content in partnership with Sales Leadership.
  • Align startup, mid-market, and Enterprise narratives into a coherent company story.
  • Partner with Enterprise Product Marketing and Partnerships to ensure segment and VC Program messaging remains consistent.
  • Build and evolve narrative frameworks, keynote processes, and segment-specific content as an individual contributor initially, then grow and hire a team.

Requirements

  • Senior narrative thinker able to work directly with a CEO on high-stakes storytelling.
  • Experience at the intersection of company vision, market dynamics, messaging, and enablement.
  • Ability to connect customer needs, industry developments, product direction, and company strategy into coherent narratives.
  • Comfortable working across audiences ranging from first-time founders to enterprise revenue operations leaders.
  • Strong curiosity and judgment regarding industry news and its implications for company positioning.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, unsolved problems, sales leadership, senior executives, and high-visibility work.
  • Willing to perform deep individual-contributor work before building and leading a team.

  • Content or communications leadership.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual compensation of $190,000–$220,000 USD.
  • 10-year exercise window for stock options.
  • Unlimited paid time off; four weeks per year is recommended.
