Engineering Manager, Verifications
Leads and develops the Verifications engineering team while owning reliability, scalability, and technical strategy across integration-heavy, regulated screening products. Requires engineering management experience plus a strong software engineering background in distributed systems and system design.

Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Verifications engineering team, including technical direction, performance and career development, and hiring.
- Own reliability and quality across fulfillment integrations; partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to improve turnaround times and minimize customer and candidate impact.
- Partner with Product to define and execute roadmaps for employment, education, drug and health, and compliance products.
- Drive technical strategy for scaling integration-heavy systems, improving coverage, reducing manual exceptions, and increasing automation.
- Lead adoption of AI-assisted development practices while maintaining quality and accuracy in a regulated, data-sensitive environment.
- Represent Verifications in cross-functional planning and advise on capacity, tradeoffs, and roadmap sequencing.
Requirements
- 4+ years of engineering management experience building and developing high-performing teams.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong command of service architecture, distributed systems, and system design.
- Experience managing complex third-party integration environments.
- Track record of improving operational metrics and reliability in high-stakes production environments.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development and agentic coding tools.
- Experience with regulated products where data accuracy and legal compliance are critical.
- Strong incident management, prioritization, communication, and people-development skills.
- Ability to collaborate across Product, Operations, Compliance, and senior leadership.
Compensation and Benefits
- San Francisco, CA: $233,000–$274,000 USD on-target earnings or base salary.
- Denver, CO: $197,000–$232,000 USD on-target earnings or base salary.
