Engineering Manager
Leads and grows the Developer Experience engineering team, owning initiatives that improve developer velocity, quality, and satisfaction across Bubble. Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of engineers responsible for Developer Experience at Bubble.
- Own the Developer Experience strategy and roadmap, identifying and executing opportunities to improve engineering velocity and quality.
- Lead career development and hiring, including expanding, upleveling, and promoting engineers equitably.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, including AI tooling, into the development lifecycle.
- Partner with staff engineers and engineering managers to roll out changes across the organization and measure impact.
- Set technical quality standards and balance technical-debt investments with product roadmap progress.
- Optimize the local development loop, including build, bundling, and hot-reload times.
- Weigh in on architecture, review pull requests, and contribute code as time permits.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of engineering management experience.
- Strong proficiency across the stack, from frontend through infrastructure.
- Experience with developer tooling, including build systems, bundlers, testing frameworks, package managers, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience using AI tooling to accelerate development workflows, with a critical perspective on safe and effective integration.
- Experience organizing and leading multiple projects with measurable outcomes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance pragmatic improvements with scalable solutions.
- Adaptability, curiosity, and a proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and root causes.
Compensation and Benefits
- Estimated salary range: $200,000–$258,000.
