Responsibilities
- Lead a squad of engineers, fostering collaboration and supporting professional growth.
- Set technical direction and create clear, sequenced execution plans.
- Own architectural decisions across the full stack, including data models, APIs, and front-end systems.
- Partner with product and design to shape the roadmap and maintain a high bar for implementation quality.
- Mentor engineers across diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
- Set performance expectations and provide direct, timely, actionable feedback.
- Promote engineering best practices across the squad and engineering organization.
- Anticipate technical and resourcing challenges.
- Enable collaboration across remote and hybrid teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years delivering high-quality software products as a software engineer.
- 5+ years managing software engineers, including ownership of hiring, performance, and technical direction.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong technical background building web applications with common frameworks; Ruby on Rails experience is preferred.
- Experience architecting web applications with a strong understanding of SQL and databases.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
- Working knowledge of front-end technologies and frameworks.
- Experience with identity management, authentication methods, and security standards.
- Hands-on participation in design reviews and code development.
- Strong product judgment and experience helping teams determine what to build.
- Clear communication across product, Customer Success, Sales, GTM, and executive stakeholders.
- Track record of managing, mentoring, scaling, and inspiring diverse engineering teams in complex zero-to-one environments.
- Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
- Ability to translate business objectives into technical solutions and plans.
- Working knowledge of software development lifecycles, agile principles, and modern engineering practices.

- Base salary: $200,000–$240,000 USD annually.
