Forward Deployed Engineer, Agentic Platform

Build and deploy production-grade LLM agents and workflows for enterprise customers, integrating tools, APIs, and sensitive data sources. The role combines software engineering, customer-facing technical leadership, end-to-end solution ownership, and enterprise reliability, safety, and auditability.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Translate ambiguous enterprise business problems into well-framed agentic workflows with clear success criteria and evaluation methodologies.
  • Design, build, and deliver LLM-powered agents that reason, plan, and act across tools, APIs, and sensitive enterprise data sources.
  • Build and ship features for North across the full product lifecycle, from conceptualization through production.
  • Own use cases end to end, adapting to the technical area required, including frontend development.
  • Contribute to shared frameworks and patterns that enable consistent, high-quality delivery across customers and teams.
  • Drive clarity in ambiguous situations, build alignment, and raise engineering quality across the organization.
  • Work directly with enterprise customers and partners; travel up to 20–40% for on-site engagements.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade software in Python.
  • Experience writing clean, testable, observable, and scalable code.
  • Experience building and deploying performant retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and agentic applications.
  • Experience developing agents that plan and execute multi-step tasks using patterns such as ReAct or Plan-and-Execute.
  • Strong familiarity with the LLM stack, including frontier models, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience building robust evaluation frameworks to measure agent accuracy, safety, and latency.
  • Experience working directly with customers and leading technical discussions with enterprise stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into concrete technical specifications.
  • Experience owning the full scope of a use case end to end.
  • Ability to execute effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with shifting priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience setting architectural standards for AI and agentic systems across distributed teams.
  • Ability to work in unfamiliar technical areas, such as frontend development, when needed.
  • Exposure to regulated or sensitive industries, including finance, healthcare, or telecommunications.
  • Experience with enterprise security, compliance, or auditability requirements for AI systems.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Weekly lunch stipend of $75/£75 or equivalent in local currency.
  • Full health and dental benefits, including a separate mental health budget.
  • RRSP matching, 401(k), or pension scheme, depending on location.
  • Up to six months of 100% parental leave top-up for either parent.
  • Annual enrichment benefits for arts and culture, fitness and wellness, quality time, and workspace improvements.
  • Education and learning stipend for conferences, courses, and coaching.
  • Six weeks of paid vacation (30 working days).
  • Budget for travel to other offices for remote employees and an annual company offsite.
  • Coworking benefit for employees not near an office.
  • $500 home office stipend.
