Forward Deployed Engineer
Build and deploy production-grade integrations for strategic customers, owning system design, troubleshooting, and end-to-end delivery across complex data and ML pipelines. The role requires 3–8 years of software engineering experience, API and data integration expertise, strong communication, and high autonomy.

Responsibilities
- Design and ship high-quality, production-grade code integrating Encord into complex customer data and machine learning pipelines.
- Own system design decisions for customer deployments, balancing correctness, scalability, and speed.
- Work directly with client engineering teams to diagnose problems, scope solutions, and ship end-to-end fixes.
- Build data integrations and technical solutions supporting customer onboarding, adoption, and scale.
- Communicate technical plans and tradeoffs clearly to engineering counterparts and non-technical stakeholders.
- Operate autonomously by identifying problems, selecting solutions, and delivering outcomes with minimal oversight.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to incorporate customer insights into the product roadmap.
- Help define and scale the Forward Deployed function as an early team member.
Requirements
- 3–8 years of experience in a software engineering role.
- Experience building or working with data integrations and APIs.
- Python experience is a strong plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and take ownership independently.
