Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic advisor to C-level customers and prospects—including CIO, CTO, CEO, and CISO stakeholders—through observability adoption, investment decisions, and operational adoption.
- Identify industry trends, their implications, and opportunities through customer engagement; contribute to top-of-funnel generation with Product, GTM, BVA, and Architecture teams.
- Partner with Product Solutions Architecture and Product Management to create industry-focused solutions.
- Demonstrate the value of the Datadog platform and provide thought leadership in observability and security.
- Highlight advanced solutions, industry best practices, and Datadog’s approach to visibility and management in large-scale environments.
- Advise Sales leaders and customer and prospect executives on ROI, value realization, and whitespace analysis.
- Support account and implementation strategies within the designated industry domain.
- Collaborate with Product Solutions Architecture, Sales, Sales Engineering, and Marketing to provide high-quality technical support to practitioners and economic decision-makers.
- Lead architecture and design engagements that demonstrate how Datadog addresses strategic customer needs.
- Participate in executive briefings at Datadog’s Executive Briefing Center covering overall architecture, observability best practices, and industry trends.
- Support hiring of strong talent for the Product Solutions Architecture and Field CTO teams.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or large-scale application architecture, including the ability to design and apply architectures based on real-world use cases.
- Deep knowledge of observability, cloud, and technology transformation among customers in the Japanese market.
- Ability to think strategically, creatively, and long term about diverse technical and business challenges.
- Experience engaging and influencing VP-level and C-level stakeholders in large enterprise organizations.
- Highly technical, hands-on leadership style with the ability to build trust across all organizational levels.
- Strong customer-facing presentation skills, from explaining complex technical details to briefing executives and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to connect product capabilities to business goals, value creation, and ROI.
- Ability to travel by car, train, and airplane up to 50% of the time.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
- Native-level Japanese and strong spoken and written English.
