Forward Deployed Engineer
Build and deploy production-grade automation workflows, integrations, and custom nodes for strategic enterprise customers across Europe. The role combines strong backend or full-stack engineering, solution design, customer-facing delivery, product judgment, and frequent travel.

Responsibilities
- Lead focused, time-boxed enterprise deployments, embedding on-site for approximately five-day engagements and delivering production workflows.
- Partner with Deployment Strategists to align technical execution with customer priorities, stakeholders, and adoption goals.
- Build trust with technical and non-technical stakeholders by translating complex environments into actionable solutions.
- Design and build production-grade workflows, integrations, and custom nodes tailored to customer environments.
- Extend existing nodes and add functionality to support high-value enterprise use cases.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into practical automation designs.
- Identify when customer requirements should become reusable node improvements, product features, or platform capabilities.
- Document technical gaps, customer context, implementation learnings, and prioritization signals for Product and Engineering.
- Contribute reusable workflows, custom nodes, integration patterns, and deployment learnings to internal playbooks.
- Deliver clear outcomes, build solutions customers can operate independently, and avoid unnecessary complexity.
- Travel approximately 50–60% for primarily European on-site engagements.
Requirements
- Strong full-stack or backend engineering experience building production integrations, APIs, or automation pipelines.
- Experience creating custom nodes, extending integrations, and working with APIs, authentication patterns, data models, and event-driven systems.
- Product-minded technical judgment, including the ability to distinguish workarounds, reusable improvements, and product features.
- Confidence working directly in customer environments with engineers, operators, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong solution design skills and the ability to quickly understand new industries, technology stacks, and customer environments.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50–60% of the time.
Nice to Have
- Experience with n8n or similar workflow automation tools.
- Enterprise deployment experience in complex technical environments.
- Experience building custom nodes, connectors, plugins, SDKs, or reusable integration frameworks.
- Forward-deployed or solutions engineering experience at a product-led technical organization.
- Experience turning customer learnings into product feedback, roadmap input, or engineering specifications.
