Responsibilities
- Manage and grow engineering teams while remaining engaged in code and system design.
- Lead development of data ingestion, transformation, and lineage infrastructure for traceable financial data.
- Own delivery of flexible financial reporting, including drill-down from projections to individual transactions.
- Guide development of accounting automation that structures messy financial data and reduces manual work.
- Lead teams building accounting workflows with dependency management, automation, AI-native experiences, and polished user experiences.
- Develop engineers, build trust, and make decisions about people and priorities.
- Establish management processes, rituals, and engineering standards appropriate for the company’s growth stage.
- Support hiring, performance management, and team output.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building software, including meaningful hands-on engineering experience.
- 2+ years of direct engineering management experience with ownership of hiring, performance, and team output.
- Ability to work deeply on system design, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
- Strong motivation, agency, and commitment to high-quality work.
- Interest in learning complex domains and tackling ambitious goals.
- Ability to balance organizational scaling with pragmatic process.
- In-person work in San Francisco.

- Experience managing teams in complex technical domains.
- Fintech or accounting-related experience.
- Experience founding a business, building products from scratch, or joining as an early engineering hire and growing into management.

Compensation
- Estimated base salary: $225,000–$300,000.
