Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture - New Logo

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and develop Solutions Architects supporting strategic new-logo acquisition.
• Establish performance expectations, coaching rhythms, technical standards, and career development paths.
• Build a culture of technical excellence, customer focus, urgency, curiosity, and accountability.
• Partner with sales leadership and Strategic Account Executives on account-based acquisition strategies.
• Drive consistent execution across qualification, technical discovery, demonstrations, proof-of-value engagements, and deal support.
• Prioritize team resources across opportunities based on impact, deal quality, complexity, strategic importance, and conversion likelihood.
• Advise on complex, competitive, and high-value engagements and position Temporal against competing technologies and architectural patterns.
• Guide technical storytelling around reliable applications, distributed systems, application modernization, and AI and agentic workloads.
• Maintain hands-on knowledge of Temporal’s product, architecture, supported languages, cloud service, roadmap, and engineering developments.
• Collaborate with Sales Development, Marketing, Developer Relations, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services.
• Turn evaluation outcomes into reusable playbooks, objection handling, demonstrations, reference architectures, and enablement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
• At least 2 years managing or leading a technical pre-sales team.
• Experience supporting enterprise new-logo acquisition and complex technical evaluations.
• Experience in open-source, developer-tools, or infrastructure-software companies.
• Strong technical background in distributed systems, microservices, or event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency in one or more of Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, or PHP.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Familiarity with modern development and deployment tooling, including CI/CD, containers, and orchestration.
• Strong technical discovery, strategic prioritization, communication, and coaching skills.

• Experience selling to and working with developer communities.
• Experience building repeatable technical-sales processes, playbooks, and leading indicators.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts with both executive audiences and software engineers.
