Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, Strategic Accounts
Own technical discovery, integration, deployment, and optimization of voice AI solutions for strategic enterprise restaurant customers. The role requires strong software engineering, production troubleshooting, customer communication, and the ability to turn deployment patterns into reusable systems.

Responsibilities
- Partner with customer engineering teams as a trusted technical peer and lead technical discovery and solutioning.
- Own end-to-end implementation of Deepgram’s voice AI platform, from scoping and architecture through go-live and optimization.
- Configure and customize voice AI deployments for menu structures, ordering flows, POS integrations, operational requirements, and edge cases.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in live production deployments; serve as an escalation point for complex technical problems.
- Build deployment tools, playbooks, reference architectures, and reusable components.
- Translate deployment challenges into actionable product and engineering requirements.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, customer engineering teams, and business stakeholders.
- Write code, read logs, ship fixes, and support customer integrations.
- Travel occasionally for customer meetings, sales engagements, and key onsite interactions.
Requirements
- Excellent software engineering skills with hands-on coding experience.
- Experience working with APIs, SDKs, webhooks, cloud infrastructure, and customer technology stacks.
- Ability to troubleshoot production systems and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong customer focus and ownership of technical deployment outcomes.
- Ability to communicate credibly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability, urgency, and effectiveness in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
- Comfort using AI coding tools to accelerate development.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with voice AI, speech-to-text, natural language processing, or conversational AI systems.
- Experience in an early-stage startup or founder-led environment.
- Experience embedded within a large enterprise customer’s product deployment.
Compensation
- Annual salary: $197,000–$246,000.
