About the role

Responsibilities

  • Bridge the gap between solutions and customers' needs by combining technical expertise, industry knowledge, and interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate the value of the platform to potential and existing clients.
  • Configure demo instances for consumer lending and consumer deposits; master associated product demo talk tracks.
  • Run full sales cycles, including solution design for consumer deposits and/or lending.
  • Act as the default point of technical escalation for complex deals (e.g., integration-heavy or compliance-sensitive).
  • Build and own the SE team's Technical Discovery & Qualification Framework (scorecard for integration complexity, compliance risk, technical fit).
  • Introduce AI-enabled workflows (e.g., automated demo environment provisioning, AI-assisted technical qualification) that improve team efficiency.
  • Serve as SME for products, system architecture, integration paradigms, system configurations, and internal tooling.
  • Manage up appropriately and work mostly autonomously.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time (domestic and international) with little notice.

Requirements

  • 5+ years working as a sales engineer, solutions engineer, or technical consultant, preferably in fintech or for a high-growth startup.
  • Proven experience in a technical sales or sales engineering role, preferably within fintech or SaaS.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and output structures including Python, React, JSON, JavaScript.
  • Solid understanding of AI and ability to leverage it effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong sense of urgency, sound judgment, exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-first mindset with dedication to understanding and addressing customer needs.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, design, compliance, implementations, enablement, customer success).
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% with little notice.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Previous training/certifications from Sandler or MEDDIC/MEDDPICC.
  • Experience with Demostack (building tours and clones with unique structures).
  • Deep knowledge of real-time core banking systems, online banking platforms, deposit account origination systems, risk/fraud/compliance tools, or modern consumer loan origination systems.
  • Prior banking experience (e.g., retail branch, branch operations, systems support) including working for a vendor/partner.
