Responsibilities
Technical Strategy & Planning
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership on strategic, cross-functional planning and prioritization.
- Develop comprehensive program plans, including roadmaps, dependency maps, and resourcing models.
- Translate business and product requirements into actionable engineering tasks, milestones, and technical specifications.
- Define and track technical metrics to improve engineering operating performance and system health.
Technical Execution & Delivery
- Lead program-level meetings and reviews with Product and Engineering leadership.
- Monitor program health, including status, risks, issues, and complex technical dependencies.
- Investigate technical issues, facilitate resolution, and drive executive escalations and program-level change management when needed.
- Own engineering roadblocks and technical delays, escalating issues appropriately and driving them to closure with engineering leads.
Process & Communication
- Manage program communications for delivery teams and executive management, covering roadmap changes, release plans, delivery status, technical trade-offs, and risks.
- Establish, document, and promote program frameworks, tools, and best practices across the R&D organization.
- Help establish and strengthen the Technical Program Management function across the company.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Engineering Lead, Manager, or equivalent working directly with software engineering teams.
- Ability to communicate technical issues effectively to technical and non-technical partners at all organizational levels.
- Ability to build and implement detailed plans that account for ambiguity, dependencies, and technical complexity.
- Demonstrated excellence in technical program management, particularly in establishing TPM processes from scratch.
- Ability to identify, track, and report cross-team dependencies and collaboratively address them.
- Strong attention to detail and a hands-on disposition.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Four-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
