Responsibilities
- Ensure operations and strategy execution work seamlessly and effectively, and streamline engineering processes so they are simple, value-oriented, and scalable.
- Oversee operations for a respective global engineering group, focusing on efficiency, stability, and effectiveness in delivering strategic objectives.
- Partner with global group leaders on vision, quarterly and annual planning, execution, and establishing and tracking engineering OKRs and KPIs.
- Maintain and improve the engineering process library with process owners, operations managers, the PMO, engineering leadership, Product, Analytics, and Design.
- Lead process and efficiency improvement programs from problem definition and data analysis through solution design, stakeholder alignment, and execution.
- Collaborate with engineering operations managers to manage initiatives, solve problems, and address critical issues.
- Conduct process audits and check-ins, identify improvement opportunities, and optimize or automate routine operations.
- Support internal knowledge management and information structure with the PMO, technical enablement teams, and technical writers.
- Coordinate, prepare, and deliver company-wide engineering updates and events.
- Champion operational excellence, project management, risk management, and security practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in technical or operations management in the technology or software development industry.
- Experience working directly with senior leadership on strategic programs and leading cross-functional R&D initiatives from start to finish.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, work independently, and solve problems in fast-paced, changing environments.
- Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills across technical and non-technical groups.
- Data-driven, action-oriented approach with strong planning, analytical, problem-solving, project and program management, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to identify stakeholders, build consensus, and reach pragmatic conclusions.
- Expertise in one or more engineering operations domains, such as system design, data architecture, infrastructure management, cost management, or quality.
- Ability to apply industry trends and business developments to engineering operations decisions.
- Ability to use AI to improve personal productivity and solutions.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience driving projects end-to-end and shipping complex, large-scale software projects with global teams using different SDLCs.
- Familiarity with Jira, Notion, Looker, and Sigma.
- Experience with cloud platforms and SaaS companies.
- Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, ETL, ELT, and the modern data stack.
