Head of People
Build and lead the People Operations function for a rapidly scaling AI startup. Own employee lifecycle, compliance across multiple countries, performance management, culture preservation, and workplace operations while partnering with leadership on org design and talent decisions.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong pulse on organizational health, employee sentiment, management quality, and cultural issues.
- Preserve Coram’s culture of high velocity, ownership, candor, and high standards as the company scales.
- Build and own the full People Operations function, including policies, systems, tools, and processes.
- Own the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, promotions, employee relations, terminations, and off-boarding.
- Ensure employment compliance across the United States, the United Kingdom, and India.
- Build scalable processes for compensation, benefits, leave, documentation, investigations, and workplace policies.
- Partner with executives and managers on organizational design, workforce planning, team health, and difficult people decisions.
- Improve management quality through practical tools, coaching, and clear performance expectations.
- Own office management, workplace operations, facilities, and employee experience across all locations.
- Partner closely with Recruiting, Finance, Legal, IT, and company leadership.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience leading People or People Operations at a rapidly growing startup or scale-up.
- Experience supporting an organization of at least 300 employees or helping a company scale through a similar stage.
- Demonstrated experience building a People function, not just operating within an established one.
- Strong experience across People Operations, compliance, performance management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and workplace operations.
- Experience operating across multiple countries, ideally including the United States, the United Kingdom, and India.
- Strong judgment, direct communication, and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and decisiveness.
- Comfortable operating strategically while remaining highly hands-on.
- Strong startup mindset and ability to build lightweight processes without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Candidates whose experience is primarily at very large, highly structured companies are unlikely to be a fit.
