Engineering Manager, Infrastructure

Leads a remote infrastructure engineering team responsible for core infrastructure, developer experience, frontend infrastructure, design systems, and security. Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of infrastructure engineers who ship software and solve complex engineering problems.
  • Mentor team members, guide professional and technical development, assign projects, and provide continuous feedback.
  • Build an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful team environment.
  • Manage performance, recognize contributions, and address performance issues.
  • Prioritize technical and resourcing challenges within the broader Engineering organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement in code, architecture, and processes.
  • Grow the team by identifying skill gaps, defining hiring needs, and supporting the recruiting lifecycle.
  • Maintain prioritized backlogs and establish short- and long-term goals with engineers and stakeholders.
  • Build relationships across Engineering, Operations, and other relevant stakeholder groups.
  • Shape engineering practices, technology choices, and the evolving technology stack.
  • Plan for long-term scalability and future growth.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in an official engineering management role.
  • At least 1 year managing a remote team.
  • Experience managing engineer performance, including feedback and performance corrections.
  • Experience growing teams and owning hiring processes.
  • Experience delivering complex technical work involving external dependencies or stakeholders.
  • Ability to diagnose and improve team morale and execution.
  • Ability to foster inclusion within diverse teams and support marginalized individuals.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with engineers, peers, customers, and vendors.
  • Strong technical background and ability to participate in technical design discussions and communicate team technology.
  • Thoughtful use of AI tools in engineering workflows, including mitigation of associated risks.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base pay range of $157,600–$267,000 USD in most remote locations.
  • Base pay range of $197,000–$267,000 USD in San Francisco, CA and New York City, NY.
  • Equity eligibility for full-time regular positions.
