Responsibilities
- Map and tier private equity sponsor books based on Stuut’s thesis and identify portfolio companies with order-to-cash and accounts receivable pain.
- Identify operating partners, portfolio operations leaders, portfolio company CFOs, and Controllers who own the relevant problems.
- Conduct cold email, LinkedIn, and warm-path outreach; write concise, specific messaging.
- Book and prepare first meetings with sponsor prospects, including written sponsor, portfolio, and opportunity briefs.
- Run initial meetings independently as ramp progresses.
- Maintain HubSpot records, portfolio-company associations, deal-sourcing attribution, and stage tracking for the private equity channel.
- Build repeatable portfolio research and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate account triage and eliminate repetitive manual research.
- Support live deals, sponsor meetings, and conference preparation with account and portfolio research.
- Analyze conversion patterns, buyer profiles, and effective outreach angles, and share findings with the team.
Requirements
- Approximately 1–3 years of experience in private equity deal sourcing or business development, investment banking, transaction services, or selling data and services to the sponsor community.
- Understanding of fund structures, hold periods, value creation plans, and sponsor-to-portfolio-company dynamics.
- Ability to evaluate portfolio companies and identify those likely to have relevant operational problems.
- Strong concise writing skills, especially for cold outreach.
- Comfort with high-volume rejection and persistent outreach.
- Experience using AI to accelerate research and willingness to build automated workflows.
- Willingness to learn commercial skills, accept coaching, and communicate honestly about knowledge gaps.
