Forward Deployed Engineer
Build and deploy production software, applications, and integrations directly within strategic automotive customer environments across EMEA. The role requires 4+ years of software engineering experience, full-stack capability, customer-facing technical experience, and strong autonomy.

Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery, from problem framing and technical scoping through architecture, implementation, and production rollout inside customer environments.
- Build and ship production-quality software, including net-new features, standalone applications, and integrations such as scenario tooling, data pipeline applications, evaluation frameworks, and custom simulation workflows.
- Work side-by-side with customer engineering and domain teams at their sites to understand technical constraints, debug complex issues, and ensure successful outcomes.
- Identify gaps between the platform and customer needs, build custom solutions, and feed requirements back to product and engineering teams.
- Establish deployment patterns, create internal playbooks, and help shape the Forward Deployed Engineering function across EMEA.
- Travel 25–40% to customer locations across Germany and EMEA.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping production code.
- Full-stack development skills across backend, API, and frontend layers.
- Experience working directly with customers in high-stakes technical environments, such as forward-deployed engineering, embedded engineering, deep technical consulting, or customer-facing software engineering.
- Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous situations and define a path forward.
- Strong English communication skills and confidence engaging with engineers and senior stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in autonomy, robotics, simulation, or automotive software.
- Experience with ROS, C++, Python, or sensor pipelines.
- Experience at a company with a forward-deployed or embedded engineering model.
- Experience building internal tools or custom applications within customer infrastructure.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to automotive certification or homologation processes.
- Experience helping define processes at an early-stage company.
