Deal Desk Manager

Manages complex software deal structuring and customer negotiations across EMEA, balancing pricing, revenue, profitability, and risk. The role requires at least five years of software industry experience, commercial negotiation expertise, revenue recognition knowledge, and proficiency with Salesforce and CPQ.

Responsibilities

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of licensing and pricing models to provide deal structuring and quoting support to global sales teams.
  • Partner with sales to meet customer needs while adhering to commercial and financial guardrails.
  • Enable deal formation and execution by minimizing sales cycle times while optimizing revenue, profitability, and market share.
  • Participate in external, customer-facing negotiations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, contracts, sales operations, order management, revenue, finance, and product management.
  • Drive best practices through deal reviews, early checkpoints, and enforcement of standard business practices and policies.
  • Assist with non-standard deal requests and sophisticated deal structuring.
  • Coordinate cross-functional and cross-solution teamwork and ensure revenue recognition requirements are handled.
  • Support metrics and processes that improve business visibility and consistency across geographies.
  • Oversee deal financials, pricing, business risk, and revenue recognition implications.

Requirements

  • Business degree and/or JD or MBA.
  • 5+ years of software industry experience; Deal Desk, Finance, or Sales Operations experience preferred.
  • Customer-facing experience.
  • Proven commercial negotiation ability and strong business acumen.
  • Understanding of software revenue recognition principles.
  • Understanding of commercial law and experience in contract management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and practical judgment in sophisticated situations.
  • Strong ownership and collaboration skills, including regular interaction with senior management.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and CPQ.
