Solutions Architect - Lakebase
This role partners with account teams to architect and promote Databricks’ Lakebase transactional database product, driving adoption through customer strategy, demos, workshops, and technical leadership. It requires extensive OLTP expertise, customer-facing pre-sales experience, cloud proficiency, and strong SQL and Python skills.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with GTM leadership and account teams to design and execute high-impact engagement strategies across the assigned territory.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, expert Solutions Architect, and product champion to build technical credibility and drive product adoption.
- Enable clients through workshops and customer-facing collateral that increase technical knowledge and thought leadership.
- Influence the product roadmap by translating field-derived, data-driven insights into strategic recommendations for Product and Engineering teams.
- Act as the tier-3 escalation point for complex technical challenges in mission-critical environments.
- Partner with Account Executives to devise and implement account strategies, develop presentations and demos, and help clients make informed product-adoption decisions.
- Collaborate with Global System Integrators and third-party consulting organizations to drive customer outcomes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of transactional database (OLTP) expertise across engineering, product development, administration, and pre-sales, including a track record of designing and delivering client-facing solutions.
- Experience architecting solutions that integrate transactional data systems with Big Data, Lakehouse, and AI ecosystems.
- Infrastructure, platform, and administration expertise in disaster recovery, high availability, backup and recovery, scale-out methods, identity and security management, and migrations.
- 6+ years in a customer-facing, pre-sales, or consulting role influencing technical executives, data strategy, and product adoption.
- Experience co-planning large territories with Account Executives and working cross-functionally across GTM and R&D teams.
- Proficiency in programming, debugging, and problem-solving using SQL and Python.
- Hands-on experience building solutions in major public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Broad experience in at least two of data engineering, data warehousing, AI, ML, governance, transactional systems, application development, and streaming.
- Undergraduate degree or higher in a technical field such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- A track record of driving complex projects to completion in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.
