Responsibilities
- Build partnerships and establish lasting relationships with existing sellers to retain and grow Square's presence with mid- and large-market organizations.
- Own a managed book of business, including prioritization, contracting, technology strategy, and ongoing account management.
- Anticipate and solve complex seller challenges using product, payments, and industry knowledge to design innovative solutions.
- Support peers, share best practices, contribute to team learning, and influence the broader Strategic Account Management function.
- Refine Strategic Account Management practices, including account segmentation, prioritization, and portfolio strategy.
- Design and operationalize repeatable approaches to account planning, seller engagement, and opportunity management.
- Align cross-functional partners across Product, Sales, Implementation, Finance, and Marketing to support scalable strategic-seller management.
- Identify patterns and insights across the book of business and translate them into practical frameworks.
- Partner with sales colleagues to establish and grow newly onboarded, high-value sellers.
- Represent the seller voice by analyzing product performance and providing feedback for product-roadmap decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in account management, business development, partnerships, sales, or sales engineering focused on technical products.
- Industry experience in hospitality and/or food and beverage is strongly preferred.
- Ability to own revenue outcomes and manage sophisticated commercial relationships with minimal guidance.
- Experience collaborating internally on complex deals or partnerships.
- Experience gathering customer requirements and building business cases for feature development while balancing stakeholder expectations.
- Experience leading multi-stakeholder, cross-functional initiatives across product, engineering, finance, legal, and go-to-market teams.
- Ability to quantify impact, build compelling business cases, and influence prioritization decisions.
- Confidence engaging and influencing senior decision-makers internally and externally.
- Formal sales or negotiation methodology training, with the judgment to adapt approaches to context.
- Experience supporting or shaping go-to-market efforts for new or evolving products.
