Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements end-to-end with customers and partners for SaaS offerings, including products with machine learning and generative AI features.
- Develop contract templates, standard methodologies, playbooks, and contract-lifecycle automation, including use of Legal AI tools.
- Advise go-to-market sales, services, and channel partner teams on customer and deal-related matters.
- Communicate complex matters clearly and provide practical solutions.
- Collaborate with finance, sales operations, security, product, support, and privacy teams on contractual terms.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to and good standing with the California or another State Bar Association.
- At least 9 years of broad-based technology transactional experience across multiple business lines and jurisdictions.
- Understanding of domestic and international regulatory requirements in SaaS and AI.
- Extensive experience with SaaS sales, reseller, strategic partnership, consulting partnership, licensing, and statement-of-work transactions.
- Experience supporting Sales and cross-functional teams, communicating business risks, and translating stakeholder feedback into contract language.
- Highly responsive, service-oriented, collaborative, independent, and results-driven.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience supporting global sales organizations and international transactions across time zones.
- Public-sector contracting experience with U.S. Federal and SLED customers and system integrators.
- Experience with regulated industries and data privacy and security frameworks relevant to AI deployment, including the EU AI Act and NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management implementation, generative AI contract-review tools, templates, and sales training.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $164,000–$276,100 USD.
- Potential eligibility for bonus, commission, equity, and benefits.
