Resident Solutions Architect

Resident Solutions Architect delivers dbt Platform implementations, architecture guidance, troubleshooting, and adoption support for enterprise customers. The role requires customer-facing consulting or architecture experience, expertise in a data platform, dbt experience, SQL, Python, and strong technical project communication.

Responsibilities

Work on impactful customer technical projects, including implementation, configuration troubleshooting, best-practice enablement, and solutioning MVPs and long-term solutions for customer-specific requirements.
Consult on architecture and design.
Ensure strategic dbt Platform customers adopt the product successfully.
Collaborate with Sales, Solution Architects, Training, and Support teams.
Provide feedback to product and engineering teams to improve and prioritize customer requests and resolve engagement-specific issues.
Become a dbt product expert within the modern data stack.
Manage scope, timelines, and deliverables across multiple concurrent engagements.
Communicate complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems and propose iterative solutions.
Travel approximately 10% for customer visits, company retreats, and offsites.

Requirements

Deep experience working with enterprise customers in a customer-facing post-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role.
Deep expertise with at least one data platform: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
At least 2 years of experience with dbt, ideally including 1 year with dbt Platform.
Proficiency in SQL and some experience with Python.
Willingness to build technical skills supporting deployment and integration of dbt Platform solutions.
Strong customer focus and organizational skills.
Experience with technical project delivery, including scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Clear and concise communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a remote organization that values transparency and cross-collaboration.
Must be physically located in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

dbt Analytics Engineering Certification.
Ability to advise on dbt Platform recommendations and build customer consensus.
Experience with traditional enterprise ETL tools such as Informatica, Datastage, or Talend.
