Responsibilities
- Hire and manage Big Data Engineers and Architects, providing technical guidance, career development, and mentoring.
- Participate as a hands-on manager in technical and design discussions with regional technical leads.
- Lead development of intellectual property, reusable tooling, and assets for field professional services teams and partners.
- Partner with business stakeholders to prioritize work and create products supporting the data platform.
- Manage a team of technical data engineers to achieve customer, company, and team goals.
- Act as the first point of escalation for customer delivery questions and coordinate resolution of technical and business issues.
- Improve internal processes and customer-success service offerings.
- Build and leverage customer relationships throughout the sales and delivery process.
Requirements
- 12+ years of industry experience.
- 6+ years of experience in a customer-facing role.
- 4+ years of experience leading a technical team of Data Engineers or Architects.
- Extensive experience with the Big Data ecosystem, including Spark, the Hadoop ecosystem, and Cassandra.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong documentation and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements while delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Excellent people skills and ability to partner with business stakeholders.
- Understanding of customer business issues and Big Data use cases across industries.
- Experience estimating effort and scope for services.
