Senior Product Manager

Own Baselayer’s zero-to-one product strategy for expanding beyond financial institutions while managing the existing roadmap and launch process. The role requires 5+ years of product management experience, strong technical and UX judgment, and a track record of shipping products that generate material revenue.

Responsibilities

New Product Definition and Scoping

  • Scope new products for verticals beyond financial institutions, from initial thesis through detailed product specification.
  • Translate market opportunities into product requirements, including target users, workflows, success metrics, and explicit out-of-scope decisions.
  • Create PRDs, one-pagers, wireframes, decision logs, and launch criteria.
  • Own product direction and rationale while partnering with engineering and design on implementation.

Specifications and Design Partnership

  • Write implementation-ready specifications.
  • Produce wireframes and flow diagrams to clarify tradeoffs and drive early decisions.
  • Partner with design on UX and product craft.
  • Run specification reviews to identify ambiguity before development.

Roadmap and Prioritization

  • Own and sequence the roadmap for the existing product surface.
  • Make daily prioritization decisions that focus engineering on high-leverage work.
  • Establish a predictable planning cadence.
  • Stop work that is not delivering sufficient value.

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Drive execution across engineering, design, sales, marketing, customer success, and growth.
  • Run launches through scope lock, build, beta, and general availability.
  • Establish clear handoffs and ownership across launch stages.
  • Connect product development with what is sold, supported, and marketed.
  • Operate with high ownership and urgency, making decisions and being accountable for outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • At least one zero-to-one product scoped, shipped, and grown into material revenue.
  • Experience partnering closely with senior engineering leaders, such as CTOs, VP-level engineering leaders, or founding engineers.
  • Strong written communication, including specifications, briefs, and one-pagers.
  • Strong product and UX judgment, with the ability to defend decisions and revise them when appropriate.
  • Founder-level ownership and urgency.
  • Comfortable discussing technical concepts and participating in architecture conversations.
  • Bias toward shipping.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience taking products into new verticals or adjacent markets.
  • Background in B2B SaaS, fintech, identity, KYB, fraud, risk, or compliance.
  • Early-stage company experience with broad product ownership.
  • Experience as the first product manager at a venture-backed startup.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $210,000–$290,000 plus equity.
