About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement systems to optimize, automate, and scale operational workload using Retool, SQL, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Operate and continuously improve end-to-end payment operations processes spanning ACH, wire, RTP, FedNow, and checks.
  • Manage the payment operations queue, including triaging, investigating, and resolving customer and external bank inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain key performance metrics and dashboards to track operations health and efficiency.
  • Partner with Engineering, Business, Compliance, Risk, and Customer teams for consistent, accurate, and compliant issue resolution.
  • Document processes, playbooks, and internal knowledge to support onboarding and scale.
  • Contribute to risk management by identifying operational risks and suggesting process or tooling improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Data Science or related field.
  • Lightweight technical skills in SQL, JavaScript, Python with aptitude to learn quickly.
  • Familiarity with NACHA operating rules, wire transfer standards, and payment processing concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer empathy and bias for action; energized by solving problems and fixing processes.
  • Excited to build from scratch with minimal oversight.
