Payment Operations
New grad role building and scaling payment operations at a fintech bank. Design automation systems with SQL/Python/JS, manage payment queues across ACH/wires/RTP/FedNow, partner cross-functionally, and document processes while developing subject matter expertise in banking rails.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement systems to optimize, automate, and scale operational workload using Retool, SQL, Python, and JavaScript.
- Operate and continuously improve end-to-end payment operations processes spanning ACH, wire, RTP, FedNow, and checks.
- Manage the payment operations queue, including triaging, investigating, and resolving customer and external bank inquiries.
- Develop and maintain key performance metrics and dashboards to track operations health and efficiency.
- Partner with Engineering, Business, Compliance, Risk, and Customer teams for consistent, accurate, and compliant issue resolution.
- Document processes, playbooks, and internal knowledge to support onboarding and scale.
- Contribute to risk management by identifying operational risks and suggesting process or tooling improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Data Science or related field.
- Lightweight technical skills in SQL, JavaScript, Python with aptitude to learn quickly.
- Familiarity with NACHA operating rules, wire transfer standards, and payment processing concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized with ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer empathy and bias for action; energized by solving problems and fixing processes.
- Excited to build from scratch with minimal oversight.
