Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor for named strategic accounts, building relationships with data, AI/ML, and platform engineering leaders.
- Shape customers’ AI strategies by designing GenAI and ML architectures, evaluating build-versus-buy decisions, and turning AI initiatives into production systems on Databricks.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership with sales teams to help enterprise customers solve business problems across the data and AI lifecycle.
- Consult on modern Lakehouse architectures and implement proofs of concept spanning data engineering, data warehousing, machine learning, and GenAI.
- Validate integrations with cloud services, in-house tools, and third-party applications.
- Develop account strategies and execute them with sales teams to help customers and prospects solve business problems.
- Collaborate across regions with Solutions Architects and account teams to provide consistent architectural guidance across international customer footprints.
- Promote Databricks open-source projects, including Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog, and recruit contributors from the developer community.
- Travel to customers regionally and occasionally internationally.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or a similar pre-sales or consulting role.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with big data and AI technologies, including Apache Spark, data engineering, data science, and modern AI/ML workloads.
- Strong hands-on architectural experience, including the ability to design and personally build end-to-end solutions.
- Experience working with large enterprise or Fortune 500 customers; global account experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong consulting and customer-facing experience with external clients across multiple industries.
- Coding experience in Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
- Experience building distributed data systems at enterprise scale.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Experience working in or with a Global Capability Center model.
- Databricks Certification.
- Experience supporting digital-native or SaaS enterprises with mature data and AI practices.
