Genius AIGenius AI

People and Talent Operations Lead

Owns strategic People Operations projects spanning compensation, HR systems, data/reporting, AI enablement, and employee experience. Builds frameworks, automates workflows, and drives initiatives from ambiguous briefs to structured execution.

About the job

What You'll Do

  • Build the data and reporting layer for the People and Talent function, defining the metrics that matter, standing up dashboards, and translating workforce data into clear narratives for leadership
  • Design AI-powered workflows across the People and Talent org, identifying where automation can eliminate low-leverage work and raising the functional floor on what the team can get done per person
  • Drive strategic projects across recognition, People and Talent systems, and other initiatives that don't fit neatly into any single owner's remit, taking ambiguous briefs and turning them into structured plans that move
  • Architect GlossGenius's employee recognition strategy from the philosophy down to the mechanics, so that strong performance and contributions get seen and celebrated in ways that actually land
  • Define how the People and Talent team operates internally, covering process documentation, systems hygiene, and cross-functional handoffs so the function runs with clarity as the company scales
  • Serve as the go-to resource for employees navigating complex People Operations questions across benefits, immigration, payroll, leave, and anything else that requires human judgment to get to the right answer
  • Manage the design and ongoing iteration of GlossGenius's compensation infrastructure, including band modeling, benchmarking cycles, pay equity analyses, and the documentation that makes comp decisions defensible and consistent

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive HR and People Operations experience, with demonstrated breadth across at least two or three of the following: compensation, HRIS and systems, people analytics, onboarding, or employee experience
  • Proven experience building workflows using AI in a People or HR context, identifying repeatable work, automating it, and redirecting capacity toward higher-judgment problems
  • Moves without waiting for a perfect brief or complete dataset, forming a hypothesis, building a draft, getting feedback, and iterating rather than waiting for full clarity before starting
  • Strong foundations as an HR generalist, knowing the craft well enough to spot what's broken, ask the right questions, and separate real problems from noise
  • Analytically sharp, with expert-level Excel or Google Sheets skills and deep fluency with HRIS and BI tools
  • High judgment about what to escalate and what to just solve, with a track record of handling complexity independently without pulling in more stakeholders than necessary
  • Excellent written communication, able to produce a crisp one-pager, a stakeholder memo, or a comp framework doc with clarity that doesn't require explanation

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive health & dental insurance options, effective on your first day of employment
  • Flexible PTO
  • In-office lunch twice per week for NYC and SF employees, plus late night dinner stipends
  • Access to Wellhub, a corporate wellness platform with discounted gym memberships, fitness classes, and mental health resources
  • Annual stipend for professional development and continued learning
  • High performers at 5 years receive a generous stipend to use however you recharge best
  • 401k benefit: employees are eligible to contribute starting day 1 of employment
  • Dependent Care FSA
  • Paid parental leave
  • Fertility and adoption benefits via Carrot and Kindbody

The base salary for this role is between $140,000 to $170,000 + equity + benefits.
