Engagement Manager

Leads quota-carrying Professional Services sales by scoping transformation projects, developing statements of work, and guiding opportunities from inception through closure. Responsibilities

  • Understand customers’ application and dataset portfolios, IT and business priorities, and success measures to design digital transformation approaches involving MongoDB technologies.
  • Translate customer use cases, pain points, and needs into scoped projects and statements of work.
  • Partner with Sales, Professional Services, and Customer Success teams to develop account strategies and plans for MongoDB adoption, growth, and utilization.
  • Drive deals and technical scoping from inception through closure.
  • Manage the Professional Services pipeline, including bookings and regional revenue forecasts.
  • Articulate the business value of Professional Services and advise on delivery issues, challenges, strategies, approaches, and risk mitigation.
  • Develop repeatable internal assets such as estimates, proposals, statements of work, templates, tools, and case studies.
  • Transition agreed project scope and customer expectations to the delivery team.
  • Mentor team members and share best practices.
  • Travel for key engagements and team offsites as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience selling Professional Services and/or technology solutions at an enterprise software company.
  • Experience as an architect, consultant, project manager, or Professional Services manager.
  • Experience positioning and selling Professional Services internally.
  • Experience carrying a quota for Professional Services bookings.
  • General knowledge of databases, including RDBMS, SQL, and NoSQL.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
  • Knowledge of software architecture across cloud and on-premises technologies, including AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
  • Ability to collaborate with account teams to build and execute complex account strategies and sales plays.
  • Ability to scope and estimate projects.
  • Strong presentation skills for communicating the value, capabilities, and differentiators of complex service solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in group settings.
