Business Systems Architect

Leads architecture, implementation, and optimization of global tax and finance systems, partnering with Tax stakeholders and Engineering teams on automation, compliance, integrations, and strategic initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience with tax systems, financial applications, project management, reporting, and global taxation.

Responsibilities

Partner with Tax stakeholders to design and implement financial-system features across Oracle Cloud Applications, including Financials, TRCS, and Fusion Tax, as well as Stripe tax solutions and other tools.
Identify opportunities to automate Tax processes, lead transformation initiatives, implement SOX controls, and maintain financial applications.
Lead Finance systems projects and strategic initiatives for Direct and Indirect Tax, including requirements, tool selection, system design, implementation, UAT, training, go-live, and post-go-live support.
Serve as a technology liaison for Tax stakeholders; identify process improvements, automation and efficiency opportunities; and create technology roadmaps.
Apply knowledge of sales tax, transfer pricing, and tax provisioning concepts to develop and maintain tax systems and data flows.
Design scalable solutions and make architecture decisions based on industry best practices.
Partner with Engineering product teams to deliver technical solutions that optimize financial workflows and integrate with internal systems.
Implement and maintain Fusion Tax and integrate it with a homegrown tax system for indirect-tax determination.
Own Tax application configuration and maintenance, systems data protection and integrity, and tax compliance and SOX controls.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
8 years of experience building and maintaining tax systems, including at least 5 years of post-bachelor's progressive experience.
8 years of experience building and implementing finance and compliance products at global scale.
8 years of experience with tax systems including Sabrix, Vertex, Oracle EBTax, and Fusion Cloud Tax.
8 years of program or project management experience.
8 years of experience designing internal financial systems for indirect or direct tax needs.
8 years of experience developing reports using SQL, PL/SQL, or BI Publisher.
8 years of experience with VAT, sales tax, or GST taxation methods and related global compliance and reporting needs.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $274,456.00–$334,600.00 per year.
Equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, 401(k), medical, dental, vision, and wellness stipends may also be available.
40 hours per week.
50% telecommuting permitted.
