Financial Connections TechOps Manager

Leads the Financial Connections TechOps function, managing an integration reliability team, partner escalations, operational strategy, and LLM-powered automation. Requires at least three years of TechOps people leadership, hands-on technical depth, production reliability expertise, and experience with technical partner relationships.

About the job

Responsibilities

Lead integration reliability and partner operations

  • Own the health of Financial Connections' banking integrations at the team level by defining reliability standards, setting the operational bar, and holding the team accountable.
  • Serve as the management escalation point for complex partner issues, coordinating across financial partners, Stripe engineering, and product leadership.
  • Set SLOs and own operational metrics that surface risk before incidents occur.
  • Prioritize the integration backlog, balancing new partner launches, reliability improvements, partner-driven technical changes, operational urgency, and longer-term investment.
  • Maintain technical relationships with key financial partners, including commercial alignment, escalation frameworks, and roadmap coordination.

Shape the agentic automation strategy

  • Set direction for applying LLM-powered agentic workflows to high-volume operational work.
  • Partner with product and platform engineering to scope and ship reliable agentic tooling that measurably reduces operational toil.
  • Build the team's capability to design and operate human-in-the-loop review systems with appropriate safeguards, risk calibration, and operational ownership.
  • Identify and sequence high-volume manual processes for elimination through automation.

Build and grow the TechOps function

  • Hire, onboard, and develop TechOps Integration Reliability Engineers.
  • Build a culture of technical ownership, disciplined incident response, urgency, and systemic problem elimination.
  • Bridge Financial Connections engineering leadership, partnerships, compliance, and legal by translating partner and regulatory requirements into engineering priorities.
  • Represent TechOps in cross-functional planning, communicate operational implications, advocate for reliability investments, and ensure the team's contributions are understood across the organization.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of people leadership experience in a TechOps team.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, managing performance, hiring, and building high-performing teams.
  • Hands-on technical depth, including reading and writing code, investigating integration failures end-to-end, querying data, and evaluating technical decisions.
  • Experience owning production reliability, incident command, operational programs, escalation paths, and SLOs in complex technical environments.
  • Experience managing technical partner or vendor relationships at a leadership level, including escalations, roadmap alignment, and commercial considerations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A team-level focus on leverage through automation, tooling, and process improvement.
  • Experience building or overseeing production LLM-powered or agentic workflows at meaningful scale.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with open banking, financial data aggregation, or payments partner integrations, including failure modes, partner ecosystems, and regulatory or compliance considerations.
  • Experience building TechOps or operations engineering teams, including defining roles, hiring, leveling, and team growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence engineering roadmaps and drive reliability, partner integration, or operational tooling priorities into execution.
