Leads and grows a globally distributed engineering team responsible for high-performance trading backend services. The role requires technical management experience, hands-on expertise with concurrent or low-latency systems, and proficiency in Rust or C++.

Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of 8–10 engineers owning core trading backend services, including the matching engine, market data gateways, and order entry systems.
- Guide the evolution of the trading stack from legacy systems to modern replacements.
- Stay technically engaged to unblock the team, review work, contribute to architecture discussions, and assist with coding when needed.
- Champion performance and market data initiatives while supporting the team’s broader technical scope.
- Introduce AI-assisted engineering practices and help engineers adopt them.
- Partner with product and other engineering teams to execute the roadmap.
- Represent the team technically with peer teams and stakeholders, clearly communicating tradeoffs and progress.
Requirements
- Experience managing engineering teams, preferably while remaining technically engaged.
- Hands-on experience using Linux with distributed or highly concurrent systems, or low-latency or high-volume transaction environments.
- Proficiency in Rust and/or C++.
- Familiarity with Go and Python in a multi-language engineering environment.
- Knowledge of order types, trading systems, and financial products.
- Proactive prioritization and execution skills in a technically deep, deadline-driven team.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Aeron or similar messaging and transport systems.
- Familiarity with multicast-based market data distribution.
- Cryptocurrency or blockchain experience.
