Responsibilities
Ecosystem Growth
- Act as the technical lead for the partnerships team, joining prospective partner meetings to design joint solutions.
- Rapidly prototype integration concepts and assess feasibility during partner conversations.
- Design the build-partner motion on Clay’s public API and MCP, producing working integration concepts and implementation paths.
- Translate partner and customer feedback into Product and Engineering roadmap priorities.
- Provide GTM teams with technical input for RFPs and proofs of concept for new integrations.
Data Quality & Provider Evaluation
- Own the evaluation system that determines provider integration eligibility, waterfall placement, and ranking.
- Define end-to-end testing methodology with the Data team, including standard test kits, scoring models, and re-evaluation cadence across a 200+ provider portfolio.
- Own and maintain public data tests for phone, work email, and personal email quality.
- Convert coverage gaps by geography and data type into a prioritized partner roadmap.
- Feed test results into margin, tiering, and badging decisions.
Partner Technical Readiness
- Build and automate technical readiness assessments covering delivery methods, authentication, rate limits, and data structures.
- Score prospective partners at intake and work with Partner Development to resolve issues or disqualify unsuitable partners early.
- Scope endpoints, authentication, fields, and cost per call before contracts are signed.
- Certify partners as launch-ready and conduct pre-launch technical checks.
Post-Launch Ownership
- Monitor integration health, API performance, and data quality after launch.
- Resolve complex issues with partner technical teams.
- Write technical documentation and implementation guides for partner developers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a technical role such as software engineering, solutions engineering, or technical partnerships, working with partnerships, integrations, marketplaces, or ecosystems.
- Deep familiarity with REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, and modern integration patterns.
- Experience building data-quality frameworks, testing pipelines, or evaluation methodologies.
- Ability to navigate third-party APIs and dense technical documentation.
- Data-analysis skills, including SQL, dashboard creation, and extracting insights from messy datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for translating complex technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
- Self-starter mentality and comfort with ambiguity and rapid context switching.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience running structured technical vetting or readiness assessments for partner integrations.
- Background in data enrichment, GTM tools, or the RevTech ecosystem.
- Experience at a high-growth B2B SaaS company.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and modern sales and marketing technology stacks.
- Experience using or building on Clay.
- Partnerships or business development experience.
