Solutions Engineer II
Own customer onboarding and post-sale technical support for IoT connectivity deployments, troubleshooting SIM, device, and network issues while building automation and tooling. Responsibilities
- Own customer onboarding end to end, from SIM provisioning and device configuration through a stable production deployment.
- Diagnose and resolve SIM-, device-, and network-level connectivity issues, including L2 escalations; partner with Engineering on systemic issues.
- Lead automation initiatives by identifying and eliminating manual operational work.
- Improve and automate technical onboarding, including SIM order intake, provisioning, and connectivity setup.
- Automate account-health monitoring and alerting for Account Management.
- Maintain and expand internal tooling, including AI-driven support tools, and related internal and external documentation.
- Advocate for customers by surfacing product gaps and technical pain points to Product and Engineering.
- Write runbooks and enable other Solutions Engineers to complete build tickets.
- Extend automation across post-sale processes, including SIM order intake, billing configuration and reconciliation, and renewal administration, in partnership with Revenue Operations and account teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Solutions Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or Technical Consultant, including ownership of onboarding through production.
- Understanding of cellular networks, IoT devices, Radio Access Technologies (RATs), and communication protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and MQTT.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Ruby, SQL, and REST APIs.
- Track record of building automations or integrations for operational workflows.
- Experience applying AI tooling to support, onboarding, or operational workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and technical concepts quickly.
- Ability to work independently across varied technical problems and define approaches for ambiguous work.
Nice-to-have
- Familiarity with Salesforce or a comparable CRM and the effect of record hygiene on downstream reporting.
Compensation and Benefits
- Target salary: $135,000–$150,000 annually, plus a new-hire equity grant in RSUs.
