Responsibilities
- Own the regional Field Engineering enablement strategy for an AMER business unit, from onboarding through advanced technical specialization and competitive positioning.
- Regionalize global enablement programs for the BU's sales motion, customer base, and competitive landscape.
- Prepare Field Engineers for product launches with regional talk tracks, demo environments, hands-on labs, and competitive positioning.
- Build scalable enablement with AI content pipelines, automation, agents, AI role-plays, competitive briefs, and demo environments.
- Drive a builder-first culture focused on end-to-end ownership, showing-not-telling, and AI productivity.
- Partner with BU and Field Engineering leadership to align priorities, surface gaps, and report field readiness.
- Establish feedback loops with Global Enablement to turn regional lessons and successes into actionable recommendations and global programs.
- Champion SME communities, peer learning, and technical knowledge-sharing across the region.
- Create deep dives, workshops, labs, role-plays, and self-paced learning for immediate customer-conversation use.
- Define and track readiness KPIs, including specialization completion, certifications, workshop effectiveness, and deal outcomes.
- Spend approximately 10–15% of time in customer-centric activities such as AI role-play, live coaching, and account reviews.
- Coordinate with Sales, Customer, and Partner Enablement to integrate Field Engineering programs into the broader BU motion.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or technical enablement.
- Direct experience with data and AI platforms, distributed systems, or cloud data infrastructure.
- Experience running proofs of concept, handling live objections, and defending technical positions against competitors.
- Hands-on knowledge of modern data and AI platforms and depth in one or more Databricks domains: data warehousing, data engineering, AI/ML, BI, or operational databases.
- Experience using AI to automate content creation, build internal tools, and ship demos or enablement assets at scale.
- Experience executing regional enablement programs and adapting global programs for specific audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including partnership with BU VPs and Field Engineering leadership.
- Experience building technical communities, SME networks, peer-learning cohorts, or centers of excellence.
- Ability to design scalable programs for large regional field teams.
- Familiarity with lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, vector databases, and AI/ML serving patterns.

- Experience at a high-growth infrastructure company during a major product launch.
- Background in both pre-sales and post-sales technical roles.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks or competing platforms.
- Experience building AI applications using RAG patterns or agent architectures.
- Regional or BU-aligned enablement experience in a matrixed organization.
Compensation
- ATS salary range: $137,100–$235,750 USD base salary.
- The total compensation package may also include an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
