Leads government affairs across the Pacific Northwest by building policymaker relationships, shaping legislative and regulatory strategies, and coordinating advocacy campaigns. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, elected officials, executives, and other stakeholders across Northwest state and local governments.
- Develop and execute legislative, regulatory, and political strategies supporting state and local policy goals.
- Prepare for hearings, deliver testimony, and participate in regulatory proceedings.
- Build and maintain coalitions of political, advocacy, and industry allies, including representation in trade associations.
- Collaborate with Policy Development, Legal, and Public Engagement teams on integrated advocacy campaigns and policy solutions.
- Manage external consultant relationships and annual government affairs budgets.
- Provide regular updates and internal materials on policy developments.
- Travel frequently.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in state or local government, policy, or corporate government relations.
- Established relationships with policymakers and confidence engaging elected officials and executives.
- Deep understanding of state and local lawmaking and regulatory processes.
- Strong strategic thinking and polished oral and written presentation skills.
- Ability to balance long- and short-term priorities and deliver results under pressure.
- Resourceful, entrepreneurial, collaborative, and action-oriented approach.
- Willingness to follow internal travel, expense, budgeting, and tracking protocols.
Nice-to-haves
- Expertise in labor or workforce policy, ecommerce, or technology policy.
- Experience with Slack.
Compensation
- Base salary varies by permanent US work location:
- California, New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey: $191,000–$201,500 USD
- Washington: $183,000–$193,000 USD
- Oregon, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Colorado, Texas, Illinois, and Hawaii: $175,000–$184,500 USD
- All other states: $159,000–$168,000 USD
- Eligible for a new-hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
