Own Wafer’s broad, hands-on marketing function across positioning, content, founder-led social, launches, events, customer storytelling, and distribution. The role requires 3+ years of broad marketing experience, exceptional writing, technical curiosity, and comfort operating in person with a small founding team.

Responsibilities
- Define marketing strategy, audiences, positioning, narrative, priorities, and operating calendar.
- Develop Wafer’s brand voice and visual direction.
- Create content for the website, X, LinkedIn, newsletters, video, and other formats.
- Turn founders’ ideas, technical work, and market observations into social posts, essays, and commentary.
- Plan and execute product, model, partnership, research, and company launches across owned channels, communities, press, podcasts, and partners.
- Own conferences, dinners, meetups, workshops, and developer events from concept through follow-up.
- Produce accurate case studies, technical articles, benchmark narratives, videos, and sales materials with engineers and customers.
- Maintain the website, create campaign and launch pages, and distribute content through social, email, communities, events, partners, and targeted programs.
- Establish a practical marketing scorecard, evaluate performance, and build lightweight workflows using AI, automation, contractors, and software.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience across marketing, growth, communications, content, community, or a similarly broad role.
- Experience working in an early-stage environment without established strategy, processes, or assets.
- Exceptional writing ability with examples of personally created work.
- Ability to move between strategy, creative work, project management, and execution.
- Curiosity about models, inference, latency, throughput, and GPU infrastructure.
- Strong taste and high standards for messaging, web pages, events, and content.
- Proactive, organized, and comfortable working with founders, engineers, customers, and external partners.
- Ability to use data to improve judgment without relying solely on impressions, raw leads, or last-click attribution.
- Willingness to work closely with a small team in person in San Francisco.
