Responsibilities
- Lead a team of content marketers, copywriters, and SEO specialists.
- Own search strategy across traditional search engine optimization (SEO) and AI answer engine optimization (AEO).
- Create, maintain, and optimize AI workflows for content research, production, and measurement.
- Define voice, tone, and editorial standards centered on original perspectives, subject-matter expertise, research, and data.
- Own content across the customer journey, including campaign creative, thought leadership, articles, product pages, solution pages, and paid landing pages.
- Audit, refresh, retire, and rebuild published content based on its potential to perform.
- Measure visibility across search and AI answer engines, using performance and demand data to prioritize work.
- Oversee content distribution across web, social, paid advertising, creative campaigns, and external platforms.
- Monitor changes in search and answer engines, including how they select and cite sources.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in content marketing, search marketing, copywriting, creative strategy, or a combination, including team leadership.
- Exceptional storytelling and editorial skills.
- Understanding of how Google and large language models such as ChatGPT find, evaluate, and cite sources.
- Data-driven approach to content prioritization, messaging, and business-impact reporting, including down-funnel results.
- Experience building AI workflows that increase team effectiveness while maintaining quality.
- Strong initiative, judgment, accountability, and recommendation skills.
- Strong leadership skills, including experience managing direct reports and supporting team growth.
- Ability to articulate a vision and gain alignment from peers, leadership, and external partners.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience executing content programs at scale.
