Senior Named Solutions Engineer, UKI

Own the technical customer journey from pre-sales validation through onboarding, adoption, renewal, and expansion for enterprise Cloudflare clients. The role requires customer-facing architecture expertise, strong communication, commercial accountability, and breadth across networking, security, performance, AI, and developer platforms.

Responsibilities

Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, validation, proof-of-concept planning, presentations, demonstrations, and objection handling for enterprise customers.
Map customer infrastructure—including DNS, CDN, Zero Trust, and network security requirements—to Cloudflare architectures and deployment strategies.
Oversee technical onboarding and implementation; design migration and onboarding blueprints and guide customer engineering teams through configuration best practices.
Own technical discovery, demos, onboarding, customer health, risk management, and expansion strategy throughout the customer lifecycle.
Monitor customer health and telemetry, resolve integration bottlenecks, reduce deployment risk, and lead technical QBRs.
Carry a variable quota tied to new business and/or account growth; identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
Advise stakeholders on architecture, AI control layers, security posture, and deployment confidence.
Use AI agents, LLMs, and internal platforms to automate RFP responses, security questionnaires, sandbox provisioning, telemetry monitoring, and documentation.
Create and deliver technical enablement materials, workshops, SOPs, architectural guidance, technical documentation, and developer onboarding resources.
Travel up to 20–50% for customer meetings, conferences, industry events, and team collaboration.

Requirements

Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineering, customer engineering, professional services, sales engineering, technical account management, or forward-deployed engineering.
Ability to design and clearly explain complex enterprise network and security architectures.
Excellent communication, presentation, consulting, and stakeholder-management skills, including communication with engineers and C-level executives.
Experience in quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environments and understanding of SaaS metrics and enterprise sales cycles.
Demonstrated depth in at least three of the following areas:
- Internet fundamentals, including OSI layers 1–7, BGP, GRE, TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
- Internet security, including WAF, bot management, firewalls, rate limiting, mTLS, Zero Trust, and SASE.
- Internet performance, including speed, latency, caching, video streaming, HTTP/2, and TLS 1.3.
- AI proficiency, including prompt engineering, AI-assisted scripting, log analysis, LLMs, and workflow automation.
- Coding and scripting with Python, JavaScript, Bash, Lua, Go, or similar languages.
- Developer platforms, including RESTful or GraphQL APIs, SDKs, webhooks, cloud-native developer tooling, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability.
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice-to-Haves

Experience creating and delivering technical enablement, workshops, code samples, documentation, or developer onboarding.
Experience with LLM orchestration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures, and model-access controls.
Knowledge of PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
Background at hyperscalers, digital-native companies, distributed-systems environments, or startups.
