RVP, Forward Deployed Engineering
Leads and scales a Forward Deployed Engineering team delivering production-grade AI coding workflows for strategic enterprise customers. The role combines technical discovery, executive customer engagement, delivery oversight, team development, and partner enablement.

Responsibilities
Sell
- Own the full arc from technical discovery to executive close, partnering with Sales and Account teams to qualify opportunities.
- Lead architecture reviews, surface integration complexity and infrastructure constraints, and scope engagements precisely before implementation begins.
- Build and present proposals that translate ambiguous customer problems into concrete, time-boxed deliverables with clear ROI.
- Present the vision and plan to C-suite stakeholders.
- Drive deal strategy on strategic accounts for six- and seven-figure engagements.
Deliver
- Serve as executive technical sponsor on the region's highest-priority engagements and manage stakeholders from IC engineers to C-suite.
- Ensure delivery quality across projects through appropriate scoping, milestone tracking, technical standards, and clean handoffs.
- Translate between business outcomes and technical implementation.
- Identify and escalate product gaps, integration friction, and recurring customer pain to Product and Engineering.
- Manage active engagements, escalate complex builds, coach FDEs on scoping and delivery decisions, and step in directly on high-stakes accounts.
- Build reusable playbooks for the broader FDE organization.
Manage People
- Lead, develop, and scale a team of 6–8 Forward Deployed Engineers working on strategic projects.
- Hire FDE talent, set expectations and technical performance standards, and establish career growth paths.
- Coach FDEs through scoping, customer collaboration, delivery, and scope-management decisions.
- Build and scale a partner FDE track by training, enabling, and maintaining quality standards for GSI and consulting partners.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience leading technical teams that build and ship in production.
- Experience in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a similar function where writing and reviewing code is part of the job.
- Software development and coding experience in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience building and owning AI-native workflows in production and debugging real-world model failures.
- Ability to quickly diagnose complex enterprise engineering environments, identify high-leverage interventions, and scope meaningful engagements.
- Experience building and scaling IC-level technical teams.
