Director, People Systems and Operations

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy and roadmap for the HR technology ecosystem, including implementation, configuration, integrations, user experience, continuous improvement, and vendor relationships.
  • Own the HRIS as the single source of truth for employee data; drive automation, data accuracy, governance, adoption, and connections to payroll, benefits, analytics, and other People systems.
  • Improve employee lifecycle processes from offers and onboarding through promotions, leaves of absence, and offboarding.
  • Build scalable people analytics, dashboards, and self-service tools to support workforce decisions, retention-risk identification, and information flow.
  • Own People-related compliance, including immigration, leaves of absence, audits, labor requirements, employee data privacy, and complex policy escalations.
  • Lead AI and automation adoption within People processes; pilot capabilities and provide structured product feedback.
  • Test and scale new tools, processes, and workflows in partnership with IT, Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition & Planning, Talent Management/Org Development, Total Rewards, and IDEA.
  • Contribute to company-wide People strategy as a People Leadership Team member.
  • Develop and empower a high-performing team through prioritization, coaching, performance management, and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive People Operations experience, including 3+ years leading People Operations, HRIS, and/or People Systems teams at manager or director level.
  • Deep experience administering and optimizing global HRIS platforms such as Workday, Rippling, or HiBob.
  • Experience with HRIS implementations, integrations, automation, data integrity, and reporting.
  • Track record of designing and scaling People processes with measurable improvements in efficiency, data quality, compliance, or employee experience.
  • Experience with payroll and benefits integrations, cross-border employee data, reporting requirements, and workforce data privacy.
  • Hands-on experience evaluating, piloting, or implementing AI and automation in People Operations.
  • Strong project management, change leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical, data-driven approach with proficiency in HR reporting, dashboarding, and self-service tools.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing, diverse teams and partnering strategically with leadership.

Compensation and Benefits

  • National pay range: $153,300–$185,400 USD.
  • Additional compensation may include stock options, bonuses, merit increases, and, for eligible roles, sales commissions.
