Senior Software Engineer - Forward Deployed
Build and deploy customer-specific platform features, prototypes, automations, and scalable tools for financial institutions while partnering with product and engineering teams. Responsibilities
- Solve novel technical challenges alongside financial institution customers by understanding their use cases and technical constraints, then designing and implementing solutions within the platform.
- Build new platform functionality alongside the platform engineering team.
- Identify product gaps through customer interactions and build features and prototypes extending existing APIs.
- Build initial solutions quickly, then partner with engineering to re-architect them for scale.
- Automate recurring financial institution workflows and create scalable systems and tools addressing customer pain points.
- Lead solution identification with financial institutions for the Platform team.
- Partner with Customer Success, Implementations, Product, and Engineering to build internal tools and automations.
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant, post-college professional experience.
- Strong engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another engineering or scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated proficiency in one or more of Python, Django, Django REST Framework, JavaScript, Node.js, or React.
- Ability to develop creative solutions to varied technical challenges and learn new subject matter quickly.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to engineers and executives.
- Passion for understanding customer problems and delivering scalable solutions.
- Eagerness to solve problems, build from the ground up, and engage across the organization.
- Curiosity about startup functions including customer engagement, product development, and partner integrations.
- Based in New York City or willing to relocate; comfortable with occasional client travel.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with financial services, core banking systems such as Symitar, COCC DNA, IBS, Finastra, or Corelation, or fintech compliance workflows.
- Hands-on experience building with large language models and agentic systems.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, especially AWS, including serverless and infrastructure as code.
- Background in forward-deployed, implementation, or other customer-facing engineering roles.
Compensation
- Base pay range: $167,000–$174,000 per year.
