Forward Deployed Software Engineer
This customer-facing engineer leads EU projects from discovery through production, building full-stack web applications and real-time AI interview infrastructure. The role requires 5+ years of production software engineering experience, strong TypeScript/React/Next.js and Python/Django skills, and experience supporting customers.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with sales and customer support teams to support Outset’s EU expansion.
- Interface directly with customers to gather feedback, understand pain points, and build features to address them.
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical support, resolving technical questions and issues.
- Support global platform operations.
- Design, develop, and optimize frontend interfaces using React and Next.js.
- Build robust, responsive components integrating with backend services and APIs.
- Design, develop, and optimize backend services, APIs, and real-time data processing infrastructure.
- Implement and refine in-house large language model and real-time interview technology.
- Lead customer-facing projects from conception through production deployment, ensuring scalability, responsiveness, and reliability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building and supporting production-grade frontend and backend systems.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Experience building scalable, responsive web applications.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Strong proficiency with Python and Django, including building robust APIs.
- Extensive knowledge of SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Experience deploying and managing services on AWS.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with real-time data visualization.
- Familiarity with real-time data streaming and export.
- Familiarity with WebRTC.
- Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure.
