Senior Fullstack Engineer - Grafana Cloud Observability
Build and operate full-stack cloud integrations and observability features for Grafana Cloud, moving across React, Go, and Jsonnet. The role requires frontend and backend experience, observability knowledge, product ownership, strong written communication, and comfort with AI-assisted development and on-call work.

Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and scale infrastructure observability features in Grafana Cloud.
- Build cloud integrations and observability apps that help customers collect, visualize, and act on telemetry.
- Ship features end to end, from frontend interactions through backend services, dashboards, and alerts.
- Work across the stack, including TypeScript/React frontend components, Golang backend services, and Jsonnet monitoring mixins.
- Own projects from problem definition through production, including user conversations and outcome validation.
- Write design proposals, run demos, and advocate for the team’s roadmap in cross-team discussions.
- Contribute upstream to Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana Alloy.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for owned services.
- Use AI coding assistants for prototyping, testing, refactoring, documentation, and incident follow-ups while following security and code-review standards.
Requirements
- Interest in full-stack development with a product-focused mindset.
- Experience with both backend and frontend development; experience with Go and TypeScript or comparable languages.
- Fluency with AI-assisted development, including coding agents and LLM tooling.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Working knowledge of observability systems, including Prometheus, Grafana dashboards, alerting, and production operations.
- Strong written communication across documentation, issues, and pull requests.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects.
- Experience building developer tooling for a large user base.
- Experience building Grafana plugins, apps, or dashboards.
- Familiarity with Grafana Alloy, the OpenTelemetry Collector, or similar telemetry pipeline tooling.
- Experience writing Jsonnet or another configuration-as-code language.
- Experience being on call for the systems you instrument.
Compensation and Benefits
- In Canada, the OTE/base compensation range is CAD $164,490–$197,389.
