Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain product features and systems across frontend and backend applications.
- Own projects from technical design and implementation through rollout, monitoring, and long-term maintenance.
- Translate ambiguous problems into technical plans and milestones with product, design, and engineering partners.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code focused on simplicity, reliability, and extensibility.
- Build user-facing experiences and supporting APIs across client, service, and data boundaries.
- Design for observability and reliability using metrics, dashboards, alerting, and health checks.
- Improve product and system performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and sources of toil.
- Contribute to design reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and example-setting.
- Improve engineering standards, knowledge sharing, and team culture.
- Use AI tools for development, debugging, documentation, and workflow acceleration.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems at scale.
- Experience building product features across frontend and backend systems.
- Experience building reliable APIs, services, and user-facing applications.
- Strong software design, debugging, problem-solving, communication, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with databases, data modeling, and relational database tradeoffs.
- Experience with modern web application patterns and customer-facing products.
- Experience owning ambiguous projects and making technical decisions with incomplete information.
- Experience mentoring teammates.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools.
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule: remote Monday and Friday, in office Tuesday through Thursday.

Compensation and Benefits
- $148,000–$197,000 annual base salary, plus annual bonus and stock options.
