Responsibilities

  • Write technical blog posts for developer audiences, including use-case guides, tutorials, technical explainers, and engineering posts.
  • Research and explain technical concepts, engineering processes, product capabilities, and how systems work in sufficient depth for builders to learn from them.
  • Identify content opportunities based on company priorities, product releases, customer needs, and areas of expertise.
  • Choose the appropriate format for each idea, including engineering blogs, SEO explainers, and social threads.
  • Collaborate with engineers and marketers to understand what was built, why it matters, and how to explain it clearly.
  • Edit technical blog posts created by engineers and other contributors.
  • Validate published content by assessing usage, impact, and whether it achieved its purpose.

Requirements

  • Strong writing skills and dedication to the craft of writing.
  • Ability to make complex technical subjects clear, useful, and engaging.
  • Previous experience writing technical content for developer audiences.
  • Portfolio containing technical explainers, engineering posts, tutorials, or similar work.
  • Curiosity and ability to understand technical concepts deeply without necessarily being an engineer.
  • Ability to work autonomously and determine what content to create.

Not the focus

  • Traditional technical documentation, documentation engineering, or UX writing.
  • Generic SEO content produced to meet publishing quotas.
  • Primarily writing social posts, advertisements, video scripts, or general marketing copy.
  • Running the newsletter as the primary responsibility.
  • Producing low-quality AI-generated content.
