Responsibilities
- Write technical blog posts for developer audiences, including use-case guides, tutorials, technical explainers, and engineering posts.
- Research and explain technical concepts, engineering processes, product capabilities, and how systems work in sufficient depth for builders to learn from them.
- Identify content opportunities based on company priorities, product releases, customer needs, and areas of expertise.
- Choose the appropriate format for each idea, including engineering blogs, SEO explainers, and social threads.
- Collaborate with engineers and marketers to understand what was built, why it matters, and how to explain it clearly.
- Edit technical blog posts created by engineers and other contributors.
- Validate published content by assessing usage, impact, and whether it achieved its purpose.
Requirements
- Strong writing skills and dedication to the craft of writing.
- Ability to make complex technical subjects clear, useful, and engaging.
- Previous experience writing technical content for developer audiences.
- Portfolio containing technical explainers, engineering posts, tutorials, or similar work.
- Curiosity and ability to understand technical concepts deeply without necessarily being an engineer.
- Ability to work autonomously and determine what content to create.
Not the focus
- Traditional technical documentation, documentation engineering, or UX writing.
- Generic SEO content produced to meet publishing quotas.
- Primarily writing social posts, advertisements, video scripts, or general marketing copy.
- Running the newsletter as the primary responsibility.
- Producing low-quality AI-generated content.
