National Sales Account Manager

National Sales Account Manager responsible for managing and expanding Skylight's relationship with Walmart and Sam's Club. Requires 3-5 years major account management experience with direct Walmart ownership, strong execution, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional collaboration to drive revenue, market share, and profitability.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Execute strategies to expand Skylight's market share within Walmart and Sam’s Club at a national level.
  • Execute comprehensive business plans to achieve revenue and unit targets.
  • Play a key role in the execution of go-to-market strategies, ensuring consistent tracking, reporting, and adjustment as needed.
  • Manage daily retailer communications and negotiations, all new product launches and in-store execution, creating performance scorecards, building exclusive bundles or SKUs, preparing sales reports, implementing process improvements, leading customer meetings, etc.
  • Management of the major retail P&L including pricing, discounts, pallet/display production costs, marketing expenses and all related account expenses in conjunction with supporting our Skylight profitability targets.
  • Effectively leverage internal resources (e.g. finance, marketing, operations) to maximize opportunities with Walmart/Sam’s.
  • Work with Sales Coordinator to ensure demand planning forecast and purchase orders are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Manages multiple projects involving cross-functional teams with competing priorities, developing and monitoring project schedules and timelines to identify and meet critical milestones.
  • Provide information on market trends, the organization’s competitive position, customer programs, etc. in order to determine program and service strategies for the customers.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of major account management experience, with direct ownership of Walmart relationship (required).
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment where priorities shift, decisions matter, and there’s no one hiding behind process.
  • Strong strategic planning + execution muscle — you can build a plan, pressure-test it, and turn it into revenue-generating action.
  • Exceptional relationship builder and communicator, comfortable working with senior retail partners and cross-functional internal teams (Ops, Finance, CS, Marketing).
  • Deep experience using retail and operational data to drive decisions, including forecasting, inventory management, and performance analysis (e.g., Retail Link, Circana, 3PL systems, Connect, Google Sheets).
  • Fluent in translating customer-specific data into clear recommendations and tradeoffs.
  • Balance the customer’s needs with Skylight’s goals, and comfortable saying no (or proposing alternatives) when the tradeoff isn’t right.
  • Clear, concise communicator who can simplify the what, why, and how for different audiences.
  • Take full ownership of your accounts — outcomes, not activity, are the bar.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Established relationships with retailers and extensive knowledge of their internal systems and processes, specifically Walmart online portals, tools, Retaillink, Circana and other operational platforms.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive Salary + Equity Package
  • 401K matching
  • Wellness, learning, and home-office budgets
  • Health, Dental & Vision Medical Plans
  • Tremendous autonomy to set the direction of your work
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Company holidays on the first Friday of every month (Excluding November, December, and January)
