About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and iterate on financial models that project the future state of Blackbird’s business across multiple scenarios (growth, market expansion, product launches).
  • Develop unit economics models for Blackbird’s transaction network (Flynet), restaurant memberships, and Blackbird Club loyalty program.
  • Analyze market data and industry trends in the U.S. restaurant economy to identify opportunities and inform strategic priorities.
  • Prepare investor-ready materials, board presentations, and internal memos that translate complex analysis into clear narratives.
  • Partner with the Product, Sales, and Operations teams to pressure-test assumptions and validate growth levers.
  • Support fundraising and partnership conversations with data-driven insights and scenario analysis.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate finance, or management consulting. Internship experience at the right caliber also qualifies.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, including DCF, LBO, scenario/sensitivity analysis, and three-statement models.
  • Exceptional Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Comfort with AI tools, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker).
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and build models from limited data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for restaurants, hospitality, and/or the future of commerce and loyalty.
  • Based in New York City. This is an on-site role.

Compensation

  • Target annual salary: $80,000 - $120,000 USD (does not include equity).
  • Full-time offers include stock options, benefits (medical, dental, vision, flexible time off, 401(k)), and perks.
