Casting & Talent Coordinator

Recruits and screens local performers for AI data-collection sessions while building relationships across Columbus’s creative communities. The part-time coordinator manages candidate communications and pipeline tracking in a flexible hybrid contract role.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit professional actors, voice actors, aspiring performers, and people with strong natural on-camera presence through in-person and online outreach.
  • Build relationships across Columbus theater, improv, comedy, campus, and creative communities, including attending occasional shows, showcases, campus events, and meetups.
  • Manage outreach through job boards, Facebook groups, social platforms, community partners, and other recruiting channels.
  • Identify candidates who are engaging on camera, take direction well, and are interested in flexible paid work.
  • Review portfolios, reels, and applications; schedule and conduct short Zoom readings; and recommend candidates for advancement with clear rationale.
  • Prepare candidates for initial screening by explaining the format, expectations, and next steps.
  • Coordinate candidate communications and track progress across sourcing, outreach, screening, selection, and onboarding.
  • Share feedback on recruiting-channel performance and test new approaches when the pipeline needs improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience in casting, talent booking, recruiting, theater or improv production, community outreach, or a related field; alternatively, strong relationships across Columbus’s performing arts community.
  • Ability to approach new people, build trust, and represent the company professionally in creative communities.
  • Ability to recognize strong on-camera presence and potential, make sound screening recommendations, and explain reasoning clearly.
  • Ability to help candidates feel prepared and confident without over-coaching them.
  • Resourcefulness, persistence, and willingness to test new messages, venues, partnerships, or sourcing channels.
  • Strong organization and ability to maintain accurate records across recruiting channels and candidate-pipeline stages.
  • Clear communication and ability to discuss AI-related work transparently and respectfully.
  • Based in the Columbus area and available for occasional evening or weekend recruiting events.

Compensation and Details

  • Part-time, approximately 15–20 hours per week.
  • 8–12 week contract, until project completion.
  • Mix of in-person and remote work in Columbus.
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability required.
  • $25–$40 per hour, depending on relevant experience and local network.
  • Pre-approved expenses covered, including event fees and mileage.
