Marketing Chief of Staff

The Marketing Chief of Staff will run the marketing organization’s planning cadence, priorities, budget and headcount coordination, executive reporting, and cross-functional accountability. The role requires 10+ years of operating experience, strong B2B demand-generation and account-based-marketing knowledge, and fluency in pipeline and marketing metrics.

Responsibilities

Operating Rhythm and Planning

  • Run annual and quarterly planning, goal-setting, and weekly and monthly business reviews.
  • Drive budget and headcount planning against the marketing slate, using Marketing Ops tracking and reporting.
  • Lead review preparation, follow-through, and resulting decisions.

Priorities and Cross-Functional Flow

  • Turn the VP of Brand's priorities into executable plans and maintain focus as new issues arise.
  • Coordinate major programs across brand, editorial, design, product marketing, demand generation, and integrated marketing.
  • Resolve unclear decision ownership and prevent programs from colliding or stalling.

Company-Wide Coordination

  • Represent marketing in planning with sales, product, and finance.
  • Make marketing commitments realistic, dependencies visible, and deliverables accountable.
  • Coordinate with procurement and legal when purchases and projects stall.

Leadership Support

  • Prepare board updates, all-hands content, and executive readouts.
  • Give the VP of Brand more time for high-priority leadership decisions.

Special Projects

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives such as reorganizations, agency relationships, flagship events, and organization-wide planning weeks end to end.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of operating experience, including substantial time inside a marketing organization in a Chief of Staff, business operations, or senior program-operations role.
  • Practitioner-level understanding of B2B demand generation and account-based marketing.
  • Ability to work with pipeline metrics, marketing metrics, and budgets.
  • Track record of bringing order to a fast, complex organization without slowing it down.
  • Clear writing, direct communication, and the presence to hold senior stakeholders accountable to plans.

Preferred Backgrounds

  • Chief of Staff or business operations experience at a high-growth B2B software or AI company.
  • Marketing Operations or Revenue Operations leadership experience transitioning into an organization-level operating role.
  • Strategy or management consulting experience followed by an in-house operating role.
  • Demand generation or integrated marketing experience followed by an organization-level operating role.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base compensation is determined by location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
  • Full-time employees receive a weekly lunch stipend of $75, £75, or the equivalent in local currency.
